I don't remember exactly what happened and how I found myself in the middle of a sunflower field on the outskirts of the town, but the headache was driving me crazy.
A dirt road led me to the town. It was the middle of the night.
My cell phone was dead. I wasn't tired, but I tried to get to the nearest motel to wait it out until morning.
The streets were empty, and the occasional cars ignored my signs to give me a ride to the centre.
I saw strange scratches on my neck near one of the night storefront displays.
In the motel bathroom, I tried to examine them and saw that the swelling had spread to my neck and shoulder.
Then I heard her gentle voice, like the singing of some ancient deity. It called me outside.
A white, milk-like face, red shining eyes, and delicate hands.
She was levitating above the motel roof, staring straight into my eyes, and her strands of black hair were moving in sync with her breath like snakes.
And then I remembered how I had bought her a drink at a bar in the evening, and she suggested we go to her place.
